About the position: This position will be assigned to the Wrangler Bunkhouse Lodging facility on F.E. Warren AFB, WY.

This position is considered Flexible with a guarantee of 0.00 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. As a Flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave and benefits.

The starting pay for this position is set by Federal pay setting regulations at $21.91 per hour.

Duties

Help

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of tasks in the day to day upkeep and maintenance of Lodging facilities, related structures, fixtures and utilities. Performs visual examination to determine the need for repair work.
  • Performs simple carpentry tasks such as repairing items, and a variety of furniture. Must be able to use a variety of hand and powered tools. Unclogs sinks and commodes and must be able to use simple plumbing tools.
  • Prepares surfaces to be painted and applies paint, varnishes, stains, etc.
  • Replaces a variety of light bulbs and filters, cleans both interior and exterior, using step ladders, may shampoo carpets.
  • Pick up and delivers linens, trash and supplies using NAF owned government vehicle.
  • Maintains exteriors by picking up trash, and snow removal.
  • Operates and maintains motor vehicles ranging from a van to a one ton diesel delivery truck, and assists with heavy moving of items.
PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Moderately heavy physical effort is required. Heavy lifting of 50 pounds or more is frequent. Frequent bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, standing, and working in awkward positions. Exposed to high noise levels while working on equipment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:

  • Must have prior experience in preventive maintenance repair.
  • Must have ability to use and maintain light weight hand or powered tools and equipment.
  • Must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Able to work in a courteous and cooperative manner with fellow employees and guests.
  • Ability to work safely and use good judgment with equipment and tools.
  • Successful completion of technical or vocational training in carpentry, plumbing, and electricity is desirable.
  • Able to complete maintenance tasks timely and accurately.
  • Personal computer experience is desirable.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
