Rumpel Fitness Center is Ft McCoy's full-service fitness facility that features a range of cardiovascular equipment, free weights & everything needed for community members to achieve their fitness goals. The facility features a pool for lap swimming & a sauna/steam room for relaxation. The staff execute a variety of events and activities throughout the year including fitness classes, runs and basketball/volleyball tournaments.

Duties

Help
  • Leads a staff of 3-12 employees who perform work up to the NF-0189-03 level. Leads and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis. Sets the pace of work to be performed. May train lower graded or new employees.
  • Supports recreational activities by instructing and/or assisting in group fitness classes and proper exercise techniques, proper use of equipment to prevent injury, safety measures, cardiovascular training, stretching, weight training.
  • Supports aquatic facility through lifeguarding and instructing and/or assisting with swim lessons and water aerobics.
  • May be required to help plan, conduct, publicize and arrange support for a variety of sponsored events, social activities, tournaments and related functions.
  • May need to operate a government vehicle to complete bank runs. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position to include a physical, and childcare checks. All local background checks will be re-verified every 5 years.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license if operating a government vehicle.
  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Operation is 7 days a week. Positions will be required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift may vary due to mission.

  • Possess Group Fitness Class certificate
