Help
  • You will submit requisitions for materials, equipment, and tools as required.
  • You will inspect work in process and upon completion, you will ensure that high quality work standards are met and that an efficient, economical, and safe working operations are maintained.
  • You will keep employees informed on procedures, policies, and instructions including the proper use of tools, equipment, and safe policies.
  • You will be responsible for informing the Supervisor on personnel matters such as leave request, potential disciplinary problems, and performance rating and other personnel matters.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including overtime, shiftwork, weekend holiday work, rotating shifts may be authorized to meet mission requirements.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Physical Effort:
Work is performed in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods of time and requires frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing and crouching. Work is strenuous and may be on the top of, or under vehicles, in cramped or awkward positions while standing, lying or sitting. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing from 40 to 50 pounds, and often puts forth similar effort in pushing, pulling, turning and positioning parts, assemblies, equipment and tools. Often lifts moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers and with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists and cranes. The incumbent must have good vision and hearing with or without artificial aids. Duties require analysis by sight, sound and/or touch.

Working Conditions:
Is exposed to moving vehicles, fumes, vibrations, noises and skin irritating compounds. Occasionally exposed to electrical shocks and burns, hot surfaces, sharp metal edges and other industrial hazards such as strains, slippery surfaces, severe winds, blowing sand and direct sunlight. Is required to comply with safe practice and use safety equipment or a variety of PPE, such as protective eyeglasses, ear protection, foot protection, respirators and protective clothing. Some of these safety items may be uncomfortable to wear or use, and may be worn or used for long periods.
Duties will normally be performed in either the outside areas around Strip 8 or 120 degrees Fahrenheit with metal surfaces exposed to the sun reaching temperatures in excess of 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months. Often works ten feet or more off the ground.
