Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered.
The primary purpose of the SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) LEADER, WL-3806-10, is to serve as a working leader of at least three employees in accomplishing trades and labor work within the Blade Shop. The highest level of nonsupervisory work led is Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft), WG-3806-10.

Qualifications
General Experience: Posses experience or training that has provided you with the ability to plan, manufacture, and install cylindrical, square, or rectangular-shaped objects that have easily constructed fastenings such as single and double-hem edges and single, double or grooved seams.
SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) LEADER, WL-3806-10: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge and experience, must have at least 24 months experience or training that demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series; the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment; the ability to provide guidance and lead others in planning, layout, and construction skills to manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottom seams, burred-bottom seams, or wired or lock seams; using more complicated shop tools and equipment; using metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material and alloys; demonstrating the use of more complicated mathematical calculations and complicated measuring instruments.
