Assist the Fitness and Sports Manager (FASM) in planning, developing, organizing, equipping, supervising and managing a comprehensive and complex fitness and sports operation for Patrick SFB and Cape Canaveral. Serves as the FASM in his/her absence. Exercises day-to-day operational management and scheduling of all fitness and sports facilities, equipment and customer -service personnel to ensure required resources are prepared and available for all recurring and non- recurring programs, activities, events and services when needed. Serves as the primary safety program manager and ensures compliance with all regulatory ground safety and occupational safety and health requirements. Serves as an appointed facility manager, performs weekly inspections, submits discrepancies and tracks to closure. Serves as the alternate custodian for fitness center accountable equipment and performs quarterly validation inspections. Monitors compliance with DAF and DoD standards and recommends necessary corrective action to the FASM. Ensures a comprehensive equipment maintenance, repair and recapitalization plan is established. Performs a full range of supervisory personnel management duties to include recruitment, performance recognition, feedback, appraisal and corrective actions, and maintains employee folder IAW NAF management guidance. Identifies training requirements and development opportunities for staff assigned. Performs time and attendance, leave of absence and payroll actions Maintains detailed and current continuity binders for all operational and functional areas of responsibility. Actively supports and participates in base wide events. Assists in setting up facilities and equipment executing fitness programs and special functions as directed. Provides budget inputs to the FASM. Performs customer service desk attendant duties when directed and/or scheduled and other relates duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience that provided a working familiarity in managing operations for a complex and regulatory-driven organization. A 4-year degree in project or organizational management or related field, or equivalent length of specialized work experience in a military or DoD organization is desired. Must possess American Red Cross CPR/AED/Blood Bourne Pathogens/First Aid Certification or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must have competent experience with Microsoft Office software. Work requires frequent physical exertion, and the incumbent must e able to frequently walk, bend, stoop and lift objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam. Must read, write and speak English fluently and be able to communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) if required. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required and/or directed.
