Help

Responsible for management control and efficient operation of the San Onofre Beach which includes Recreational Lodging, Campsites, Event Venue, and Equipment Rental. Implement new policies or innovative promotions that can increase occupancy, deliver quality guest service while maintaining the required level of profitability. Develop and implement strategies/procedures to ensure safety and security of patrons. Drive business by promoting the facilities and services for use and repeat visits by both the recreational and special event segments of the facility. Maximize the facility's profit by striving for the optimum occupancy rates and by achieving the best rate for all products and services sold on a daily basis. Promote total guest satisfaction by addressing the complaints, answering inquiries, and resolving problems that guests may have encountered.

Plan, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plans, budgets, cost controls, inventories and related records and reports. Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget. Monitors programs on a regular basis and initiate corrective action to ensure support  for operating programs of MCCS. Manages new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements. Develop long-range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives and exercises internal personnel management authorities as delegated by the higher-level supervisor regarding subordinate supervisors and employees in the office.

Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol and substance abuse and take appropriate action. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Ask questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction with the quality of goods and services. Take action to solve problems quickly. Alert the higher­ level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program.  Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly.  Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials and equipment.  Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office.  Ensures safety training is provided for employees. Comply with OSHA standards and take action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions.  Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions and follows through with appropriate action.  Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with ¿Return to Work¿ program initiatives and following up on employee well-being.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

A minimum of four years' experience in the hospitality or recreation industry. Management/supervisory experience preferred. Ability to supervise employees. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
