Duties

Help

Serves as the Traffic Management Coordinator at a level 12 radar approach control facility. Regulates the number of aircraft that can be accepted within a terminal area and restricts altitudes and/or routes to be flown a specific period of time. A level 12 radar approach control facility is characterized by a traffic density measure of 100 or more operations per hour. Incumbent projects a positive, cooperative attitude toward users and operators.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications for Traffic Management Coordinator (TMC) positions in the terminal and en route options: Specialized Experience Required for TMC Positions: Must have been facility rated or area certified in a CPC/TMC/S at an ATO terminal/en route facility. Rating and Evaluation Factors: In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, candidates will be rated in accordance with the instructions on FAA Form 3330-43-1 (dated 6/00), Rating of Air Traffic Experience for AT Movement.

This position is covered by the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant tentatively selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment or pre-appointment drug screening. Persons occupying a "testing designated position (TDP)" will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.

This is a detail opportunity to provide TMC staffing assistance to New York Tracon (TENY1-N90). Applicants must have been fully certified at New York Tracon. The duration of the detail is NTE 180 days; however may be terminated early based on agency needs and/or availability of funding. Upon completion of this assignment, the selected employee shall return to his/her original permanent position.

Interviews: If the agency decides to interview any qualified employee on the selection list, then all on the list who are qualified must be interviewed.
