This position is located in the U. S. Naval Academy's Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentality (NAFI), Midshipmen Welfare Fund (MWF) Musical Activities, Annapolis, Maryland. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Director of Musical Activities in the day to day and artistic operations of the Musical Activities Department. Summary

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Director of Musical Activities in the day to day and artistic operations of the Musical Activities Department. The incumbent works closely with the Brigade of Midshipmen and Officers stationed at the Naval Academy via email, telephone and in person.
Incumbent will create, edit, and produce audio and/or video content for broadcast and social media platforms.
Incumbent will assist with website and social media updates and maintenance.
Incumbent will help coordinate the Musical Activities performances and oversee all Front-of-House aspects.
Incumbent will administer or carry out educational, recreational, cultural, or other programs in theater.
Incumbent will assist with set design, construction, and painting; prop creation and procurement; and oversee costume inventory organization.
Incumbent will assist with the overall artistic production of all Musical Activities performances. Incumbent will assemble weekly midshipmen Chapel Service music binders.
Incumbent will assist the Musical Activities office in general office maintenance responsibilities to include, but not limited to, answering phones, photocopying, sorting mail, filing, data entry, ordering office supplies for musical performances and routine office equipment maintenance.
Incumbent will maintain Patron mailing list (Excel) for promotional materials.
Incumbent will receive visitors and telephone calls to the office, determine nature of requests and personally provide information desired or direct person to appropriate resources.
Incumbent will assist in other duties as assigned.
Duties are most often performed within an office setting. Work is primarily sedentary. However, there is some walking, observing, standing, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting of moderately heavy items.
Must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance – requires 18 years of age
Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Verification of employment eligibility in the United States is required
Probationary period: Full Time and Part Time employees serve a one-year probationary period
U.S. Citizenship is required for Tier 3 Positions
Must be able to understand and communicate in English
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSAs) for this position are as follows:

Incumbent must have completed two years of education beyond high school; or one year of equivalent experience in a Musical Activities field. Education in Music Production, Recording Arts, or other Music related studies preferred.
Experience in multi-microphone audio recording and editing of large ensembles.
Experience with a variety of audio recording hardware and software. Experience with ProTools preferred.
Experience with digital consoles for live performances.
