Help
  • You will resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  • You will troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems
  • You will apply information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.
  • You will troubleshoot and provide solutions to customer requests for assistance in resolving complex hardware and software problems, occasionally escalates issues to a higher graded specialist or supervisor.
  • You will provide instruction on the capabilities, limitations, and operation of equipment to user representatives within and outside of the Department.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position and aligns with DOD Manual 8140.03 for specialty area 411 (Technical Support Specialist) at the intermediate level.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment (involves installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software systems to meet business requirements of customer); 2) Apply all applicable Information Assurance (IA) Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patches to ensure systems availability , functionality, integrity and efficiency; 3) Research, evaluate and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements; 4) Develop local guidance and procedures for implementation of mandatory technical standards, working with functional managers to evaluate impact of proposed standards and procedure; 5) Develop and manage customer service performance requirements, consult with customers to identify and specify requirements. Education


Specialized experience may be substituted with the following education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management

OR

3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
