Receives and reviews referrals of patients needing physical therapy treatments from physicians, and initiates appropriate physical therapy program involving patient and family in developing goals and objectives.
Provides physical therapy treatment and rehabilitation programs including periodic evaluations of the program to determine the patients status and the effectiveness of the treatment regimen.
The position directly supervises four Physical/Occupational Therapists and one Administrative Support Assistant.
The incumbent plans work to be accomplished by subordinates and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Responsible for several administrative requirements of the department.

Licensure

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Identifying, distributing and balancing the workloads and tasks among employees by planning and carrying out a full range of treatment or prevention of physical disabilities or disease in order that patients will derive the maximum benefits from therapeutic activities. Providing a wide variety of physical therapy services for patients having a wide range of complex pathologies.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
