Duties

Help

Provides functional oversight of the Air Force Lodging Fund. Oversees the establishment and implementation of lodging rates in coordination with SAF/FMC, AF/A1S, and AFSVA/SVFA. Assists in developing criteria to evaluate the Air Force ·Inns to ensure that standards are being met. Identifies and recommends needed process policy changes based upon evaluation of current program. Prepares NAF & APF budget submissions. Performs field visits to evaluate base-level lodging operations performance and customer service; provides staff assistance to improve the local performance of the lodging operation. Conducts training (classroom and on-the-job training) for personnel assigned to all departments of the lodging function to meet current standards for customer service and efficiency. Provides briefings to Air staff, other DoD activities and base level personnel. Assists in the management of the annual Air Force Innkeeper program from the evaluation of the competing bases to the awards luncheon. Provides assistance in the management for the annual lodging forum and managers· conference. Oversee processing purchase requests through the automated base services system or Internet-based purchasing system, monitoring the preparation of purchase orders and related contracts, ensuring receipts of goods and services, and processing vendor invoices for payment. Works with 12th Contracting and Accounting Liaison Office (ALO) offices at Randolph AFB and Shared Service Center to ensure timely payment of invoices. Oversee financial reports for VQ and TLF assessments. Perform financial analysis and gather statistical data. Supervises 5 personnel: 3 civilians, two NCOs. Advises and provides counsel regarding policies, procedures, and management directives. Develops modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Explains performance expectations and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Recommend awards when appropriate. Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers unresolved complaints to higher-level management. Initiate action to correct performance or conduct problems. Initiates minor disciplinary measures such as letters of reprimands or counseling. Provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the-job) to maintain and improve job performance. Encourages self-development. Approves master leave schedule assuring adequate coverage for peak workloads and traditional holiday/ vacation time. Demonstrate sensitivity to ideas of subordinates. Discharges security responsibilities by ensuring education and compliance with security directives for employees with access to classified or sensitive material. Recognizes and takes action to correct situations posing a threat to the health or safety of subordinates. May be required to travel TDY as directed by management, sometimes on short notice, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means. Qualifying Experience:
Requires a broad experience of lodging operations at the base, FOA, and Air Staff level. Completion of a bachelor's degree in related area or a combination of professional experience that provides equivalent knowledge. Experience in non-appropriated fund financial administration of lodging operations is highly desirable. Must have the proven experience to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have experience in the use of personal computers, lodging automated systems. and purchasing system. Ability to analyze and evaluate plans, methods, procedures and techniques of supply. services and programs to provide new or changed policies needed to achieve objectives of lodging funds. Must be able to develop briefings, training aids. lesson plans, talking papers and other presentations for classroom instruction, conference briefings and other required briefings or presentations. Must be certified by the Educational Institute, American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) as a Certified Hospitality Revenue Manager (CHRM).

Education

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
