Summary

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and located at the Child and Youth Services School Age Program of the 6th Force Support Squadron, MacDill AFB, FL.

Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.

Duties

Help

Helps to prepare items from the approved menu under the direction of the Cook. Ensures milk is stocked in rooms, sets up water coolers for use in program areas and other items. Cleans kitchen and eating areas. Operates the dishwasher and puts away the dishes. Cleans all serving items. work surfaces, pots and related items. Make sure the kitchen is cleaned and all food properly stored at the end of the day. Assists in the preparation of bag lunches for program field trips and with proper storage of food taken on the trip. Sets up snack following approved menu as directed by the Cook. Places the food, serving utensils and supplies on the carts.

  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgement in sequencing tasks. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment and work area.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

Additional information

  • Child Development Program will provide 100% childcare fee discount for all CYP direct care staff for the first child enrolled in a full-time or regular part-time DAF CDP. A 25% discount will apply for any additional children of direct care staff. Direct care staff must spend a minimum of 75% of their work schedule in the classroom and flex employees who average 15 hours a week. Please contact local NAF HR Office for additional information.
  • Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. This includes providing any supporting documents needed for verification.
