Duties

Help
  • You will provide knowledge of IT and Cyber concepts, principles, methods, and practices and service, Joint, and multi-national/coalition information exchange requirements and processes.
  • You will apply advanced information, collaboration, and battle management (ICBM) principals , concepts, methods, standards, and practices.
  • You will apply modern information and collaborative standards and solutions to satisfy organizational decision process requirements.
  • You will apply knowledge of current developments and trends in information and collaboration technologies and Commercial, Off the Shelf (COTS) products and components.
  • You will negotiate with all levels of personnel within the USMC, other military service representatives and knowledge management specialists from other agencies for the coordination of information, collaboration, and battle management projects.
  • You will apply knowledge of USMC Marine Air-Ground Task Force Command and Control (MAGTF C2), DON, and DOD information technology-based programs.
  • You will prepare and make oral and written presentations to effectively report project progress and status.
  • You will apply experience of KMI policies and their implementation and Designated Restricted Areas accreditation policies and their implementation for designating and accrediting new or existing restricted areas.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and resolving a variety of hardware and software problems that demonstrates accomplishment of computer and telecommunications project assignments requiring a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 461Systems Security Analyst, within 12 months of appointment.

Position is required to comply with the DON CyberIT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M5239.2, which includes:

1. Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position assigned

2. Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2 a minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both them employee and supervisor. Intermediate Proficiency Level - this role requires an individual to have extensive knowledge of basic concepts and processes and experience applying these with only periodic high-level guidance. An individual must be able to perform successfully in non-routine and sometimes complicated situations.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
