Duties

Help
  • You will provide information about and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems.
  • You will perform a variety of fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties and responsibilities.
  • You will analyze financial reports, identify discrepancies, and review all deposits, checks, disbursements, and collections and ships financial reports.
  • You will review, process daily transactions, and notify any errors to the ships Disbursing Agent or Deputy Disbursing Agent for correction.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience processing or analyzing disbursing financial returns and statements.
  • Experience performing Disbursing Processing functions and duties such as responding to incoming requests and keeping customers informed by providing a proactive status update.
  • Experience reporting and entering deposits, collections, disbursements, and checking information in the DFAS Disbursing System of record.
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating budget requests and formulating budgets and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
  • Experience tracking and controlling of funds for special programs, analytical or program work pertaining to payroll, cash control or benefit systems.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

Incumbent must be knowledgeable in Financial Management Regulations related to Disbursing functions.

Incumbent must successfully pass a Deputy Disbursing Officer (DDO) exam and acceptance of a proper appointment under DD Form 577 is required prior to be appointed as a DDO.
