Duties

Help
  • Develop and assess current and future supply requirements to effectively address customer needs.
  • Oversee inventory by maintaining precise records of pharmaceutical stock levels to guarantee uninterrupted availability.
  • Facilitate procurement by overseeing the acquisition of medications and supplies, guaranteeing prompt delivery and adherence to pharmacy regulations.
  • Establish and adjust stock levels to fulfill the material needs of operational activities.
  • Conduct a thorough review of all procurement documents related to materials, equipment, and services to ensure the maintenance of sufficient supply levels.
  • Compile and transmit weekly supply requirements electronically to the central warehouse.
  • Organize information for reports, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Act as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for contract support activities and oversee the management of service contracts related to logistics support.
  • Utilize automated systems and workflows to oversee inventory supply, process electronic funding requests, manage vendor invoice payments, and evaluate contracts.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance (Tier 3) or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

  • The responsibilities of this position necessitate that the incumbent possesses, or obtains and maintains, a valid driver's license from one of the 50 U.S. states or territories to operate vehicles before employment begins.
  • This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel for training opportunities at other commands and/or attendance at pharmacy conferences.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Education and or Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing and coordinating supplies, equipment, and materials within pharmacy supply operations; efficiently managing inventory and procurement functions, maintaining professional communication with providers, contractors, and vendors, and preparing recommendations and directives for pharmacy supply procurement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Supply Chain Management or Logistics. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second grade or equivalent (GS-09).
