Duties

Help
  • You will support shipyard and regional maintenance center(s) through advocacy, reporting, and intervention on critical requirements for surface ship, submarine, and aircraft carrier maintenance and modernization availabilities.
  • You will analyze and interpret the complex relationships in life cycle logistics planning, acquisition policy, supportability analysis and program management to represent the division at various meetings.
  • You will conduct in-depth research to identify impediments to supply support and recommend interventions to support the shipyard and/or regional maintenance center.
  • You will oversee the utilization of supply chain management processes, procedures, and tools to enhance the availability of materials and supplies.
  • You will interface with stakeholders to coordinate, monitor, and assess supplier performance.
  • You will report material and workload status to NAVSUP senior leadership as well as external agencies and activities.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing the utilization of supply chain management processes, procedures, and tools to enhance the availability of materials and supplies for surface ships, submarines, and aircraft carrier maintenance and modernization availabilities.
Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1.) Applying Integrated Logistics Support management policies, principles, and methodology to modify or develop new supply practices and procedures; 2.) Conducting in-depth data analysis to develop supply support strategies, identify unique and complex issues, and recommend augmented or corrective actions/solutions to program leadership; 3.) Improving logistics supply chain processes, programs, and policies by researching current supply issues and synthesizing directives to provide recommendations to senior leadership; 4.) Communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders to deliver status reports, provide detailed recommendations to actual or potential problems, or to persuade others to adopt specific ILS related proposals or recommendations.
