Duties

Help

Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor in the maintenance office of lodging. Responsible for all maintenance service calls from lodging staff and guests. Receives, reviews, and processes written work orders. Responsible for handling a large number of maintenance related phone calls and classifying them as emergency, routine, or minor maintenance. Sets up priority maintenance orders in terms of safety, security, mission support, etc. Assures justification is adequate and all information is present. Visits guest rooms and work sites as needed to verify status of work. Works closely with CE, HVAC and COMM to coordinate maintenance and repairs. Manages and maintains key logs of all facilities. Provides facility keys to housekeeping inspectors, maintenance workers and Civil Engineering workers who need access to guest rooms and secured sections of the facility. Inspects and documents any deficiencies to buildings, grounds and furnishings of lodging facilities. Checks interior of buildings for damage, missing screens, deficient electrical fixtures, plumbing problems, occupant housekeeping standards, insect and rodent control, safety/fire hazards, damage or unsatisfactory furnishings and sanitation problems. Maintains facilities building files to include all physical inventories, updates all changes in inventories. Maintains a current database for all job orders, work orders and renovation projects. Maintains facility management files and coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor and facility Operations Manager and updates networked database information accordingly. Types a variety of material using a computer, such as correspondence, forms, any required reports and memoranda pertaining to the billeting operations. Coordinates and oversees Fire Prevention Program for lodging operations in conjunction with Sheppard Air Force Base fire department. Distributes and educates the Lodging Managers and housekeeping supervisors on proper fire drill procedures, organization and requirements of fire prevention folders and fire safety inspections. Assists in training lower grade clerks in the performance of simple and routine clerical and work order clerk duties.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have responsible clerical or office work in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactory at the grade level of the position. In addition to the above requirement, applicant is required to demonstrate possession of an adequate degree of proficiency in typing, computer skills, as well as good verbal and written communication. Some knowledge of a quality assurance and inspection program for construction or renovation contracts or equal is preferred. Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs and inventory tracking software or equal. Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays. Position of trust, NAC required.
