Duties

Help
  • You will disassemble, inspect, repair, modify and rebuild electronic systems such as FM and Multiplexed FM systems (e.g. ground to air, ship to shore, point to point and tactical networks required to support military operational operations.
  • You will perform diagnostic tests to integral devices of communication systems including miniature and sub-miniature transistorized printed circuit boards to isolate defective circuit element.
  • You will performs analytical tests of serviceable equipment after prolonged storage to ensure no deterioration of operational ability has occurred.
  • You will work independently upon Product Team workload requirements performs maintenance and repair on a broad spectrum of radio and wire communication systems and components.
  • You will follow the principles of electronic signal transmission and reception to perform preventive or corrective maintenance on audio and radio frequency amplifiers.
  • You will perform research on new parts for work in progress using technical manuals, blueprints, or drawings.
  • You will troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment using schematics, electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, or technical equipment maintenance and operation manuals.
  • You will perform cost estimating and job cost analysis for new parts to support the workload for electronics mechanics and or Determine feasibility and cost effectiveness of making needed electronic repairs.

Additional information

This position requires stooping, climbing, bending, kneeling and crouching, and sometime confined areas. Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. and/or with assistance 100 lbs.

This position is performed indoors, outdoors, in all types of weather conditions and is subject to heat, cold, smoke, wind, humidity, and stress.

You may be exposed to toxic fumes, high pressure fuel lines, hot exhaust, and cooling systems. Frequently exposed to injury from troubleshooting energized engines, and or transmissions.

You will be exposed to excessive sound pressure levels from engines, such as high-pitched noise from turbochargers or engine exhaust.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
