Duties

Help
  • Administer the Physical Examinations and Standards (PES) program and serves as an administrative expert on related issues.
  • Analyze, track, and maintain physical examinations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Perform final review of all physical examinations and records information concerning the patient's condition and qualifying summary
  • Advises and makes recommendations to senior officials on health issues related to Physical Exams and Individual/Unit Medical Readiness standards.
  • Monitor the medical status of military personnel. Identifies and profiles personnel with medical conditions impacting duty performance or assignment restriction.
  • Provide prescreening for medical/dental/mental health and evaluation of personnel eligibility for deployment.
  • Schedule members to complete any medical requirement that is necessary to meet and maintain eligibility for deployment status.
  • Act as the Medical Readiness customer service expert.
  • Provide updates for the immediate supervisor/Commander for active and reserve units.
  • Facilitate unit Commanders in achieving a continuous greater than 75%-unit level compliance on required protective vaccinations

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in Federal service which includes Implementing and maintaining the information management systems, such as Preventive Health Assessment (PHA) and Individual Medical Readiness (IMR), Medical Readiness Reporting System (MRRS), MHS Genesis and other related programs utilized to compile and complete various special and recurring reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Nursing, Medical or Patient Care.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
