About the position: This position will be assigned to the Marketing Department on Keesler Air Force Base, MS.

This position is considered regular full time. You are guaranteed 35 hours per week but could work up to 40 hours per week. As a regular full time employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave, and sign up for benefits, to include health/life insurance, 401k, and NAF retirement.

Duties

Help

The Community Relations Coordinator position is located within the Marketing Department and reports to the marketing director. This position oversees the commercial sponsorship and advertising program. Manages and executes all aspects of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing. Develops solicitation packet and solicits sponsorship from local, regional, national and international sponsors. Exceeds $100k in in-kind, sponsorship, and advertising sales per fiscal year, while building, expanding, and maintaining strong client relationships. Ensures Air Force and sponsor compliance with sponsorship agreement. Tracks payment of advertising and sponsorship agreements to ensure proper accountability and credit. Maintains complete records on active and historic sponsor and advertiser activity. Has a high attention to detail, adaptability, organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while projecting confidence and courtesy. Works with internal marketing team to develop creative campaigns and manage advertising and sponsorship program objectives. Coordinates professional marketing campaigns comprised of print, social media, mass media and e-marketing channels to enhance the Force Support Squadron (FSS) brand. Identifies target audiences, establishes positioning, and develops campaign plans with marketing best practices to build successful strategies. Partners with activity managers and flight chiefs to establish marketing plans and commercial sponsorship strategies. Ensures the marketing project process is executed effectively from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration. Must uphold a high standard of professionalism and business ethics. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Presents professional oral presentations. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field appropriate to the work of the position AND two years of experience in the occupation, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Must have experience in composing written material, conducting verbal/oral presentations, soliciting and negotiating agreements, developing advertising copy, advertising/sponsorship sales experience, and knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
