Duties

Help
  • Serves as the aquatics manager responsible for managing and supervising the aquatics program.
  • Establishes aquatic certification curriculum for lifeguard, lifeguard instructor, water safety instructor, water fitness instructor and other safety, fitness and recreational certification and educational programming.
  • Ensures that required safeguards and internal controls are present to prevent injuries and accidents, or the loss of assets and property. Maintains pool chemical balance and basic pool operations.
  • Develops, updates and reviews Standard Operating Procedures and other policies and ensures their continued enforcement.
  • Provides leadership, direction, management and analysis of all aspects of the program as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position to include a physical, and childcare checks. All local background checks will be re-verified every 5 years.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.

  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Operation is 7 days a week: Monday - Friday 1000-1800, Saturday - Sunday 1000-1400

Qualifications

Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume.

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor recreational or competitive aquatic programs and facilities.
  • Possession of the following certification:
    • Current Lifeguard Certification
    • Current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
    • Current Aquatics Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator Certification
    • Current Certification in Water Safety Instructor
    • O2 (Oxygen) Administration
Highly Preferred Criteria All answers to the Highly Preferred criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit.
  • Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, administering and executing aquatics programs.
  • Knowledge of pool chemical maintenance to ensure balance, and basic pool operations.
