This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.

Duties

Help

As an LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-9, you will:

  • The purpose of this position is to function as the logistics manager of the organization and to serve as the organizational Property Book Officer (PBO) responsible for routine accomplishment and oversight of property accountability functions.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates the logistics and property accountability policies for the organization.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and provides recommendations relative to current and future MTOE/TDA and/or force structure changes to determine the impact on organizational equipment authorizations.
  • Ensures the property book sections periodically perform asset visibility rebuild to validate date in the visibility files.
  • Determines shortages of authorized non-expendable equipment and directs authorized substitutes in accordance with appropriate regulations and directives.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. General Experience:

  • Analytical ability in the logistics field
  • Use of computer and automation systems
Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 24 months of the following Specialized Experience(s)?
  • Plan and organize work assignments
  • Support activities in order to meet program goals
  • Interpret and apply regulations and laws or practices
  • Knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support
