Help

The Recreational Lodging Reservationist is responsible for managing reservations, handling guest inquiries, processing payments, and ensuring the smooth operation of Big Bear Recreational Facility.  This role involves financial reporting, inventory management, and administrative support to assist management in maintaining an efficient and welcoming environment for guests.

Main Responsibilities:
- Accept reservations, and pre-registration requests
- Process and verify reservations, ensuring accuracy in guest details, dates, and payments
- Accurately calculate and post all charges to guests' account, charge credit cards and handle payment transactions securely
- Complete the night audit process, reconcile daily transactions, and prepare financial reports
- Assist in resolving guest issues related to reservations, billing, or lodging concerns
- Answer guest questions about local activities and tourist attractions
- Assist customers and communicate in a positive and friendly manner 
- Generate and submit financial reports as required by management
- Purchase necessary supplies and maintain proper documentation required by policy
- Assist management with inventory tracking and purchasing decisions
- Prepare and submit requisitions for new and existing contracts
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, reservations, and inventory
- Support management with administrative tasks and special projects 

Provides exceptional customer service, and upholds high service standards using respect, courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork.  Takes the initiative to solve problems quickly but recognizes when to seek assistance to resolve issues.  Collaborates in a professional, supportive, and proactive manner.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.  Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

One year experience as a hotel reservationist, customer service technician, customer service liaison, or similar field of work required.  Experience in a lodging reservation system is preferred. Must have financial reporting experience and be proficient with excel spreadsheets. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly to both guests and leadership.  Requires reading, writing, basic math calculations.  Must have excellent communication and customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.  Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn proprietary software required for the position.  Must possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
