Duties

Help
  • You will monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) screens for unauthorized activity/activation based on images displayed.
  • You will monitor and operate a Mass Notification System (MNS) to ensure proper dissemination of emergency mass notification messages and ensure proper operation of system.
  • You will maintain alarm control log of all alarm conditions to include setting, resetting, activation, and deactivation to ensure alarms are not malfunctioning.
  • You will utilize Symmetry Security Management System to monitor, troubleshoot, manage, and control site security electronic systems.
  • You will operate a variety of office automation equipment, including copy machines, facsimile machines, networked computers, laser printers, shredders, scanners, and other electronic equipment.
  • You will ensure call rosters on key personnel are accurate and maintain complete and accurate listing of all Fire/Smoke alarm boxes.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain specific qualifications and licenses to operate different types and size of motor vehicles when preforming Motor Transportation Dispatch duties.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours and rotating shifts will be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Incumbent must pass a sanctioned job compatibility/psychological examination and are subject to periodic psychological examination and medical evaluation under the medical surveillance programs.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • You are required to maintain appearance and grooming standards per Marine Corps Orders/Policies.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S Government emergency vehicle operators license.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing administrative office security support, monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, intrusion detection systems, alarms, mass notification and closed circuit television systems.

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Perform administrative office security support, monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems (e.g intrusion detection systems, alarms, mass notification, closed circuit television systems); access a database to confirm the proper authorization of visit request; alert appropriate officials of apparent security violations to enforce security laws and regulations; and set, monitor, and secure alarms to protect areas where security requirements are enforced.
