Duties

Help

  • Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records. Keeps work area clean and orderly.
  • Sets up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods and beverages. Prepares coffee and hot water for tea, fills beverage dispensers with juices and soft drinks.
  • Sets tables, seats guests, records guests' selections and turns in orders to the kitchen. Serves food and beverages. Presents bill and receives payment. Cleans tables and immediate area.
  • Portions out food, cleans and prepares meats and seafood for cooking.
  • Clean floors, walls and windows in kitchen, dining and storage areas.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A probation period of one year may be required.
  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages (18 years of age).
  • Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds. Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.

Qualifications

  • Experience or training that indicates knowledge skills and ability to perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and possess basic math skills.
  • Able to bend, stoop, walk, and reach frequently.
Skill and Knowledge:
  • Able to work alone.
  • Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Know simple food handling techniques.
  • Able to work safely.
  • Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time.

FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) will not be paid for this position.
