Help

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversees multiple areas within the facility (i.e. Boiler Plant, Water Treatment Plant, and outside utilities) and determines specific assignments for subordinates.
  • Applies technical expertise (i.e. steam generation, water treatment and distribution, sanitary sewer/ storm water systems, industrial equipment, etc.) necessary for the operation of a complex organization (i.e. hospitals, etc.).
  • Provides oversight and assistance on complex repairs and maintenance (i.e. steam generation, water treatment and distribution, sanitary sewer/ storm water systems, industrial equipment, etc.).
  • Reviews completed operations tasks periodically to ensure quality and code/standards are being upheld.
  • Determines short/long range plans to manage inventory levels at facility operating plants.
  • Conducts daily meetings with staff to determine priorities and status of operations.
  • Establishes preventative maintenance and testing programs.
  • Verifies permits and certifications are current with various federal, state and local governments.
  • Oversees various disciplines that complete assigned work in multiple locations both on and off site.

  • Completes a variety of documents and reports (such as performance appraisal summaries, misc. reports, fact findings, scopes of work) using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint) and other related programs.

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Qualifications

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS:

Physical Efforts: The position works both in a sedentary office environment and also in the field operating equipment and assisting with driving and mechanic duties. It requires the incumbent to be able to stoop, bend, kneel, reach, and climb for periods of time. Incumbent lifts, carries, and sets up materials and equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: The incumbent works in an office performing administrative duties and also indoor and outdoor environment. He/She may be exposed to high/low temperature and humidity extremes. There is frequent exposure to dirt, grease, noise and machinery hazards.

SCREEN-OUT: This position requires the applicant to have the ability to perform the work of a lead or supervise as an Operations Supervisor. This lead/supervisory work includes: overseeing multiple areas within a facility (i.e. Boiler Plant, Water Treatment Plant, and outside utilities); determining specific assignments for subordinates; applying technical expertise (i.e. steam generation, water treatment and distribution, sanitary sewer/ storm water systems, industrial equipment, etc.) necessary for the operation of a complex organization (i.e. hospitals, etc.); coordinating and planning schedules, workload and staffing needs; providing supervision and assistance on complex repairs and maintenance; estimating maintenance and service-support related costs for areas under your supervision.

Driver's License Requirement (Screen-out): This position requires a current and valid state-issued driver's license to operate government vehicles to perform the official duties of the position. Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
