Current permanent employees of UIC 62478 within the commuting area of the duty location listed for this position, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Preference eligibles and DoD Retained Grade Preference eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
You will prepare, coordinate, and conduct established classroom trade theory instruction for apprentices, which includes basic and advanced knowledge, theory, methods and techniques used by high voltage electricians.
You will revise and adapt daily lesson plans; develops visual aids and handouts, videos, and/or obtains the necessary related training materials in order to accomplish the objectives of the trade training plan.
You will schedule and coordinate on-the-job training with various shops and assures that OJT is appropriate and aligned with training plan.
You will research and implement leading-edge practices and techniques as well as the procurement and deployment of modern tools and equipment.
You will keep abreast of changes in industry standards, Command requirements and/or procedures.
You will lead apprentices in the installation, repair, and maintenance of high voltage electrical lines, circuits, systems, controls, and equipment supporting industrial operations, computer complexes, or similar high voltage electrical loads.
You will train apprentices in the trouble shooting, testing, and loading of high voltage electrical systems, with a wide range of voltage, amperage, phase and frequency requirements.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
