Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Program Manager at the GS-0340-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Executes programs and projects in furtherance of the DSCA Director and Deputy Director's priorities, including the Agency's Legislative Affairs, Strategic Communications, and Enterprise Programs functions.
  • Coordinates with the agency's directorates and the Front Off ice staff in support of current, future, routine, and urgent actions, including strategic communications, Congressional and Public Affairs, trade shows, enterprise-level programs, and other emerging activities as assigned.
  • Provides oversight and review/approval for the analysis, development, coordination, and establishment of strategic messaging relating to Security Cooperation (SC) programs.
  • Manages the Agency's congressional and public affairs staff and conducts high-level engagements across DSCA Headquarters and Component staff ,external agencies, and organizations to include the White House, Off ice of the Secretary of Defense, Geographic and Functional Combatant Commands, Department of State, U.S. Congress, think tanks, academia, the media, defense industry, and foreign government officials.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-15 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Planning, advising, and executing command and control of a Headquarters level Front Off ice (i.e.SES/GO/FO or industry C-Suite equivalents).
  • Executing Legislative Affairs, Strategic Communications, and Enterprise Programs functions related to national security or foreign policy objectives.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
