Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Satellite Data Analyst (SDA) in the SDA Satellite Vulnerability (SATUVUL) Division (SPACE2), Space Operations Department (SPACE), at Naval Network Warfare Command (NAVNETWARCOM).
  • You will monitor, maintain and provide products and services ensuring accuracy and timeliness for routine and event driven space domain awareness support to global users.
  • You will ensure products and services support changes in operations and, accuracy of database population and watch instructions prior to planned event driven support.
  • You will provide support for unique products and, provide assistance and propose solutions for a variety of difficult and recurring problems.
  • You will provide all facets of user support, to include but not limited to guidance, direction, assistance, account authorization, establishment, documentation and maintenance.
  • You will ensure complete customer account documentation.
  • You will maintain integrity of classified programs, systems and materials through appropriate handling, labeling, storage, accountability and destruction.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:

-Experience producing routine, event driven manual and application satellite positional data and Intelligence products.
-Experience detecting, evaluating and reporting unusual observations and taking immediate remedial actions as appropriate.
-Experience providing advice, guidance and recommendations on database issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
-Experience ensuring database applications are properly populated, flagged and maintained.

Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements for the position.

This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

The Cyber Interagency Transfer Authority (CITA) permits movement of CES employees appointed under Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and excepted service employees appointed under Schedule A, Section 213.3106(b)(11) of Title 5 CFR, into cyber workforce positions in the competitive service and movement of competitive service employees into DoD Cyber Workforce positions within the Military Departments and Defense Agencies.
