  • Serves as first-level supervisor, technical authority, and advisor to second-level supervisor. Plans and directs division activities, ensuring that operational deliveries and processes comply with applicable requirements and meet customer needs.
  • Directs, coordinates and oversees work through subordinate employees. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives. Responsible for creation and implementation of training plans for all employees.
  • Represents JWAC at meetings, conferences and trainings in order to keep abreast of issues impacting organization. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships within JWAC and external organizations and customers.
  • Prepares and presents reports and briefings on status of work unit's initiatives and/or recommends action to key internal and/or external elements. Ensures project plans and objectives are on target and resolves technical or administrative issues.
  • Provides technical direction to identify, coordinate and prioritize requirements for the development of new and/or improved methods and tools to advance data analytics and computer scientific methods and capabilities, as appropriate.

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing program. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

Only applicants who meet the area of consideration are eligible to apply for this job. In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the basic education and/or specialized experience requirements.

For DR-III: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DR-II/GS-13 grade level. Specialized Experience is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled. Examples of specialized experience include developing software systems, high-speed computing systems; real time data acquisitions systems, simulation modeling, data analysis and developing and applying system evaluation methods and techniques to major portions of large projects of studies. Serve as staff specialist responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance in a major subject-matter, functional, or program area AND Leadership experience, experience developing/executing advancement requirements, experience training/mentoring others, and technical ability and knowledge across a variety of national security/DoD topics and analytic methods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (The following will be used to help rate and rank eligible candidates.):

  • Ability to lead and manage a team of professionals, with strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to formulate objectives and priorities, assess risk, and execute plans is required.
  • Experience and skill with programming or scripting to automate processes.
  • Knowledge of policies governing personnel management of Department of Defense civilians, such as understanding of timekeeping principles, leave, conduct, and discipline.
