The Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) this position will be responsible for delivering enterprise tools and data-informed, actionable insights that support the Smithsonian's digital transformation and the advancement of Smithsonian's business, research, and organizational goals using data, analytics and advanced computing. The position plays a key role in establishing and championing an organizational culture of effective data management and data-informed decision making.
In this position, you will:
Direct and oversee the development and implementation of a wide range of data-gathering efforts and comprehensive data studies, including developing analyses and digital products that produce data-informed, actionable insights to support leadership in making strategic and tactical decisions that further organizational goals.
Direct and coordinate product management, to include specific user-centered design, data collection, analysis, modeling, and development activities to deliver data-driven insights and advanced analysis to the institution.
Plan, organize, direct, supervise, and manage the personnel and activities of an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service or comparable pay band system related to the work of this position. For this position specialized experience is defined as:
Experience developing and/or implementing a business intelligence and/or advanced analytics program within a complex organization
Advising senior leadership on data and evidence-based decision making to support organizational goals, the development of customer facing services, and application of advanced analytics and emerging technologies
Developing and assigning data related roles and responsibilities and promoting employee development in data skills and analysis
Experience overseeing the full product lifecycle for data management, analytics, and/or advanced computing platforms, including strategy development, tool selection, launch, modernization, and eventual sunsetting
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement, you must also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
