Duties

Help

Serves as the lead lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager.
Performs lifeguarding duties and limited management functions.
Ensures the safe operation of the pool, filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water tests.
Provides maximum surveillance of pool area and rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

A one year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para. 2, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Requires a Hepatitis B Vaccination within 24-hour period in the case of exposure to infectious disease.
Must wear protective equipment and follow environmental safeguards.
May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements
Work hours may include weekends, weekdays, holidays and night duty.
Must have good/corrective vision while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies.
Satisfactorily complete additional background checks to have regular and recurring contact with children.
Heavy lifting requirement of 25 lbs.
Applicants must have Lifeguard, CPR for Professional Rescuer, First and AED certifications before starting employment.
A physical will be required.
Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Possesses and maintains the following certifications:

Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS).
American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional
CPR for the Professional Rescuer
AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED)
First Aid

PCS Costs

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials

This is a pay-banded position.
Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

Incentives and Bonuses

Incentives will not be paid.

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
