Duties

Help
  • Implements and enforces command-wide electronic document management system capabilities and policy for managing information in all media of Army records utilizing the Army Records Information Management Systems.
  • Develops and implements standardized records management policies and procedures and monitors compliance in accordance with Army guidance.
  • Plans, leads, and conducts in depth reviews of disclosure operations to assess compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
  • Ensures documentation is handled in accordance with the Department of the Army Information Security Program and Physical Security Program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

For the GS-12: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience planning and conducting short- and long-term studies for organizational goals and mission; experience applying wide range of administrative, security, information management, and records management laws, policies, regulations, and precedents; experience ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

For the GS-13: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as designing and experience developing policies and procedures for publications management; experience in mission and organizational relationships; experience ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
