About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and daily childcare available. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center, (Mass transportation is available at minimal cost.)

  • Review program operating goals and develops budget expenditures.
  • Perform analyses using budgeting developed data queries, accounting automated system applications and manual processes.
  • Analyze the revenue and expenditure of various organizations.
  • Brief management and higher headquarters on budget issues and trends.
  • Ensure that statements and records comply with laws and regulations.

  • Temporary Duty Travel, TDY may be required up to 5% of the time.
  • Must obtain and maintain Financial Management Certificate Level 2 within 24 months in the position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Data Analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for Data Analytics Level 1 certification within twelve months of being placed in the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Reviewing funding requests; 2) Utilizing budget or financial automated systems to input data entries; 3) Mentoring coworkers on budgetary functions; and 4) Preparing budget reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with laws and other regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS- 11 or above.
