The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Space Force Base is searching for an Officer and Civilian Development Specialist, SSC/S1KO (NH-0301-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description:
Looking for a highly motivated individual and experienced professional in the field of Education and Training, to lead the Space Systems Center's (SSC) FLDCOM Education and Training activity. As a pivotal member of the SSC Learning Enterprise, you will team with an amazing group of like-minded professionals throughout SSC and the US Space Force, in providing exceptional education, training and learning opportunities for our entire SSC workforce in support of the dynamic US Space Force mission!

Ideal Candidate:
- The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in the field of Education and Training; must have experience working, developing, coordinating and collaborating on innovative education and training programs; this coordination includes working with external and internal organizations and contractor entities; experience working financial and contractor requirements; basic familiarity with the contract and finance tools and processes.
- Must have a general knowledge of applicable DAFIs and DAFMANs.
- Experienced developing and implementing training plans to include Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Must able to evaluate and distribute information to workforce that directly impacts their careers; experienced presenting information and assistance on various boarded opportunities to include force development, individual training, career development and long-term and/or developmental assignments; must be able to develop and track metrics related to education and training requirements and the progress of education and training programs.
- Experience working, coordinating and collaborating with/at the MAJCOM/FLDCOM/AFPC/HAF level.


Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of processes and procedures related to program management and strategic planning activities needed to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints.
2. Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations; manage human, financial and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals.
3. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations
4. Ability to persuade others to accept recommendations, work toward an agreement, and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions.
5. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
7. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the position.
  • Resumes are to be limited to no more than 5 pages. Position will be closed after 5 business days or after 75 applications are received.
  • Subject to TDY 15 days a year.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft within CONUS or to downrange sites in the performance of Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY).
  • This position is on-site and eligible for situational telework, 2-4 days per pay period.
  • PCS funding is available.
  • Serve as Government Purchase Card (GPC) Holder.
  • Records management and other duties in connection with correspondence, forms, word processing, copiers, records disposition and utilization, privacy programs and reports control activities.
  • Coordinate administrative policies and procedures for the organization.
