Duties

Help

As a Program Analyst at the GS-0343-13, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Providing advice and assistance on a wide range of analytical issues including long-range planning, procedural and policy development, and policy implementation.
  • Assisting DPPPD in defining disaster recovery, response, and resilience solutions, supporting the development of the SBA-wide disaster response and recovery policies, and providing organizational support to SBA's declared disasters.
  • Supporting national, state, regional, local, and stakeholder communities during disaster recovery.
  • Participates in the creation of procedures to develop and increase resilience.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • This is a Permanent position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time work schedule.
  • If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.
  • A valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

Experience:
To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hours must be stated on the resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level.

GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of a disaster assistance program or policy in meeting established goals and objectives; and
  • Experience analyzing new or proposed emergency management legislation or regulations to determine impact on program operations and management; and
  • Experience drafting written summaries to convey information; and
  • Experience planning, implementing, managing, and/or reporting activities; and
  • Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding an organization/agency's program.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

In order to be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process. In addition to the application and application questionnaire, this position requires an online assessment. The online assessment measures critical general competencies required to perform the job.
