Help
  • Acquires and manages the necessary resources, including leadership support and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk.
  • Advises senior management on risk levels and security posture.
  • Collects and maintains data needed to meet system cybersecurity reporting.
  • Communicates the value of information technology (IT) security throughout all levels of the organization stakeholders.
  • Ensures that security improvement actions are evaluated, validated, and implemented as required.
  • Ensures that cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated for the network environment.
  • Evaluates and approves development efforts to ensure that baseline security safeguards are appropriately installed.
  • Identifies information technology (IT) security program implications of new technologies or technology upgrades.
  • Interprets patterns of noncompliance to determine their impact on levels of risk and/or overall effectiveness of the enterprise's cybersecurity program.
  • Manages threat or target analysis of cyber defense information and production of threat information within the enterprise.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the enterprise's cybersecurity safeguards to ensure that they provide the intended level of protection.
  • Provides technical documents, incident reports, and findings from computer examinations, summaries, and other situational awareness information to higher headquarters.
  • Supervises or manages protective or corrective measures when a cybersecurity incident or vulnerability is discovered.
  • Tracks audit findings and recommendations to ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are taken.
  • Ensures that plans of actions and milestones or remediation plans are in place for vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, inspections, etc.
  • Develops and applies IA and cybersecurity requirements for adequacy and effectiveness of security measures, continuity of operations, and protection of systems and system content.
  • Develops a cybersecurity plan for submission to decision makers.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access/eligibility.
  • Must comply with Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements as this is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion or an on-duty accident.
  • One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Foundational certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
  • This position requires Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III certification or the incumbent must be able to obtain certification within six (6) months of appointment in accordance with DoDD 8140.
  • This is a Defense Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) position as outlined in DoDD 8140.01- Cyberspace Workforce Management, Encl 2, Par 9(c)(d).and is associated within the Oversee and Govern workforce category.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Implementing Risk Management Framework requirements for Information Systems; 2) Evaluating IT Systems (e.g. hardware design, operating systems, and software applications) to ensure they meet cybersecurity requirements; 3) Conducting vulnerability/risk assessments; and 4) Enhancing information security controls to support cybersecurity requirements.

AND

Specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others;

(2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation;

(3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information; and

(4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
