Duties

Help
  • Under close supervision, performs routine intelligence functions in support of the organization’s future force modernization enterprise mission.
  • Conduct research in the areas of intelligence, threat assessment and production in support of larger assignments.
  • Perform assigned portions of intelligence projects to include maintaining program records and preparing/submitting reports; and developing information papers and briefings.
  • In a developmental capacity, researches, reviews and analyzes classified and open-source intelligence to support Army Futures Command (AFC) mission areas.
  • In a developmental capacity, produces diverse open-source and all-source intelligence products.
  • Perform assigned portions of intelligence projects to include developing information papers and briefings.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting with intelligence related research utilizing library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; or, gathering and reviewing a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare intelligence reports; or, conducting analysis of intelligence data to support conclusions and/or recommend actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-05).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and/or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Education: One full academic year of graduate-level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Political Science, Geography, Foreign Affairs, International Law, History, Economics, Demography, Engineering, Law Sociology, Psychology, Military Science, Cartography Social or Cultural Anthropology and/or Physical or Chemical Science. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Superior Academic Achievement: Successfully completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree and are claiming Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in B above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on: (1) Class Standing - You must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR (2) Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.) - You must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.; OR (3) Honor Society Membership - You may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies (https://www.achshonor.org/). Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application).
