About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation/FamCamp on Ellsworth AFB.

This position is considered regular part time. You are guaranteed 20 hours, however, could work up to 40 hours.

As a regular employee you are eligible to earn leave and other NAF Benefits.

Duties

Help

Primary oversees a workforce of employees assigned to Recreation Lodging (Cedar Lodge/FamCamp) in their day-to-day activities and addresses any personnel issues to the Outdoor Recreation Manager to directly handle.
Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates programs and activities in direct support of 61-slot FamCamp Area and a 48-Room Recreation Lodging Facility.
Provides initial and reoccurring training for employees and inspects completed work for quality and completeness. Ensures Recreational Lodging adheres to fire and safety regulations.
Answers telephones, takes reservations, and administers automated reservation system ensuring protection of Personal Identifiable Information (PII). Collects user fees, prepares daily cash collect reports, and safeguards all funds and controlled documents.
Responsible for maintaining documentation to prepare as needed budget information on Recreational Lodging to include personnel expenses, supplies, and maintenance.
With supervisor approval, initiates appropriate purchase requests, personal service contracts, and blanket purchase agreements as required and ensures required accounting documents are submitted in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate accountability for appropriated and nonappropriated (NAF) property assigned. Informs customers of local policies and procedures and enforces policies in a consistent manner.
Assists ODR Manager in determining long-range, intermediate, and short-range program goals and policies.
Assists ODR Manager with developing and implementing operational plans and procedures to achieve program goals, monitors effectiveness and efficiency of operations within the established framework.
Inspects facilities grounds and equipment assets to asset functionality and determine applicable maintenance and repair actions.
Reports minor maintenance to CE and identifies potential safety risks to supervisor in a timely manner.
Coordinates work operations, solves operational problems, determines equipment and supplies needed.
Assists in developing and maintaining standards for cleanliness and sanitation for Recreational Lodging.
Oversees staff on cleaning Recreational Lodging facilities and makes sure cleaning supplies and equipment are properly used.
Required to operate a government vehicle to travel between locations.
Assists Outdoor Recreation Manager with equipment rental and assists with base wide events. Oversees overall Outdoor Recreation operations in absence of Manager.
Performs other related duties as required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have a minimum of 1-year of practical knowledge of recreational camping and lodging rules/procedures. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply the principles of lodging operations and recreation management. Must be able to read, write. and speak English and have general knowledge skills of computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint formats. Must be able to lift items up to 50lbs on an infrequent basis.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
