INTRODUCTION:
This position provides a broad range of coordination and to works closely with other MCCS branches for a wide range of special events. Works directly for the Marketing Manager and serves to increase patronage and improve customer satisfaction through enhancement of activities and image.

MAJOR DUTIES:
Assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing marketing and special event support in support of a variety of MCCS program functions.  Administers and monitors budget expenses, marketing collateral, procurement contracts, sponsorship dollars, and in-kind product associated with special events to ensure program goals are being met in a cost effective manner. Provides on-site assistance, and operational continuity to ensure successful events and activities.

Coordinates logistical and administrative support for MCCS special events  to include scheduling events , preparing facility requests, assisting with risk management (RM),  coordinating with other stakeholders  for additional event support, completing transportation requests and marketing support requests.  Coordinates and executes event logistics, to include towing and maneuvering trailers, and loading and operating event equipment. Assists in the preparation of data for appropriated and non-appropriated fund budgets and ensures budget requirements meet program demands.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience in event marketing, planning, coordination and scheduling, or a combination of experience and education may be substituted for experience. Must possess excellent human relations and communication skills to identify needs of visitors, coordinate with entertainers and to respond to the requests of the audience. Must have experience in Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include nighttime, and weekends. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. may be required.
