Help
  • Work with Conservation Section Chief and Enterprise Architecture Branch to increase velocity of delivery by driving down technical debt, and reducing code via use of PaaS Services.
  • Work with delivery teams and Operations staff to build solution architectures in alignment with FPAC Technical Guidance Framework to allow team autonomy to delivery within defined guardrails.
  • Act as Subject matter expert for Conservation Chief for review and recommendation of new technologies from delivery trains and teams.
  • Develop Proof of concepts for new technologies and delivery patterns that can be used by delivery teams to accelerate delivery and enhance business agility.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education as defined below.

For all positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

Specialized Experience to qualify for the GS-14 level:
To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must possess at least one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service (or private sector equivalent) that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Applicant must have specific experience clearly reflected in their resume that demonstrates following experience:

  • Experience building cloud natives applications in Amazon Web Service (AWS) using either containers or serverless PaaS services such as Step Functions and Lambdas;
  • Experience migrating legacy applications running java or .Net to cloud hosting;
  • Expert level cloud architecture knowledge to support application delivery;
  • Experience working within architectural guard rails to optimize business solutions within Agile delivery model
