Duties

Help
  • Serve as the Combat Development Specialist for the 75th Ranger Regiment's requirements, acquisition, integration, and development directorate.
  • Conduct operational research and analysis of material development, technical targeting, and related capabilities.
  • Identify required capabilities, provide concept of operations summary and perform a thorough analysis of capability gaps to create solutions.
  • Partner with the program management office in writing capabilities production documentation.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as Emergency-Essential.
  • Incumbent must be able to deploy OCONUS on short notice for operations and training exercises for extended periods of time to include hostile fire zones.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting research of material development, technical targeting, and related capabilities; utilizing data from evaluations to resolve operational conflicts; identifying technology to define the scope of impact trends have on the performance and capabilities of future combat systems; and researching existing technology efforts to fulfill capability shortfalls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
