Duties

Help
  • You will plan and direct the Installation Freight Branch operations for movement of materials and equipment.
  • You will determine personnel, equipment and material requirements for the Freight Branch.
  • You will Interpret, adopt and administer policies, procedures, directives and regulations involving movement of freight by various modes to national and international destinations.
  • You will supervise Rail Road, Heavy Lift, and Freight Distribution Hub operations.
  • You will overseas the following automated programs and systems: Automated Manifesting System (AMS), Cargo Movement Operations Systems (CMOS) and Transportation Coordinator's Automated Information For Movement System (TCAIMS).
  • You will plan and assign work, sets priorities, evaluates work performance, provides training and instructions, interviews and selects employees, hears and resolves complaints and effects disciplinary actions.
  • You will inspect operating activities to determine status of training, condition of facilities, equipment and the level of services provided.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: ABILITY TO SUPERVISE WG, GS AND ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY, ABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN TRAFFICE STUDIES AND ANALYSIS OF OF A WIDE VARIETY OF TRAFFIC DTA SUCH AS TRANSPORTATION CHARACTERISTICS, TARIFFS, CHARGES, CARRIER PRACTICES, EQUIPMENT TO ENSURE MOST ECONOMICAL MODE OF TRANSPORTATION IS OFFERED AND ULITIZED. SURVEILLANCE FOR CARRIER SERVICE/EQUIPMENT IS ADEQUATE TO MEET SERVICE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL ACTIVE AND DOD CIVILANS MOVING AROUND THE GLOBE, KNOWLEDGE OF SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MOVING OUTSIZE AND SECURITY FREIGHT, EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF VARIOUS FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS, TARIFFS LAWS, REATE, PRACTICES OF COMMON AND SPECIALIZED CARRIERS, I.E. AIR, RAIL, OCEAN AND MOTOR CARRIERS.
