Duties

Help
  • Provides oversight of key control, visitor control, access control, video surveillance, and the Intrusion detection system, while performing as part of a 24/7 security office.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with established DoD, DISA, and USAF Security and Force Protection policies, practices, procedures, and techniques for the command.
  • Prepares and submits reports on security matters with appropriate recommendations where required.
  • Assists assigned personnel with their personnel clearance documentation for the purpose of issuing security clearances or placement of personnel in sensitive positions.

  • This position requires the incumbent to work an alternative or shift work schedule.
  • Incumbent must have or able to obtain and maintain Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Level II Credentials and DoD Security Specialist credentials.
  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • The incumbent may also be required to physically report to an alternate duty station during the activation of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan.
  • This is a Drug Testing Position.
  • Shift work required. Shift hours will be: 1st shift 0630-1500, 2nd shift 1430-2300, and 3rd shift 2230-0700.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-09, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in assisting with the physical security of the facility and personnel, as well as assisting with the development and directing the execution of all operations, information, and personnel security programs, as well as force protection and anti-terrorism activities.


Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

GG-9 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the qualifying experience requirement. If you are using education to substitute for the qualifying experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.   • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.

  • This position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Manual 3305.13-M, "DoD Security Accreditation and Certification" and selectees will be required to meet the certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program.   • Shift work required. Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
  • Shift hours will be: DG1 Security Shifts: 1st shift 0630-1500, 2nd shift 1430-2300 and 3rd shift 2230-0700
  • The Department of Defense (DoD) policy on employment of annuitants issued March 18, 2004 will be used in determining eligibility of annuitants.
