Qualifications

The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position will serve as a Wood Worker disassembling and repairing wooden boxes, crates, pallets and similar items located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Wood Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. Disassembling and repairing wooden boxes, crates, pallets and other similar items used for straight in-line and diagonal bracing. I can disassemble these items, select reusable parts and make repairs, such as tightening and replacing nails, screws, broken boards, hardware, and other easy to replace parts. I have used hand and power tools such as hammers, carpenter squares, and nailing machines. I have moved and stored these completed items and materials using material handling equipment such as electrical, gasoline, or diesel powered forklifts.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS:
Performs repetitive, tiring work for long periods. The work involves frequent standing, bending, stooping and reaching. May be required to lift items weighing up to about 20 pounds, and occasionally lifts and moves heavier items.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is usually performed in shop areas or other enclosed areas which may be drafty, damp, or overheated. Occasionally works outside in fair weather and sometimes in bad weather. Is frequently exposed to loud noises, such as those from power saws, hammers, and nailing machines. To avoid injuries and irritations, may wear safety eyeglasses, protective ear devices and/or gloves.
