Duties

Help
  • Analyze and review plans and major programs that are significant to the success of key mission programs affecting the directorate/center.
  • Apply knowledge of different functional programs and program planning associated with program development.
  • Analyze and verifies data, techniques, and methodologies associated with program development.
  • Develop and design a system that meets a specific set of requirements through a process that yields timely, affordable, high-quality products that meet the needs of the warfighter.
  • Providing oversight of verification and validation activities, to insure proper development of a platform and/or end product.

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11/DE-02 which includes: 1) Developing policies, procedures, and plans that result in unique products that provide tools or resources for broad application. 2) Interpreting regulations and laws to develop implementation strategies. 3) Applying independent judgment in making compromises to satisfy complex requirements. And 4) Developing new policies, approaches or techniques that impact beyond the scope of the organization.

This position is in the DE-03 pay band that is equivalent to the GS-12 step 1 to GS-13 step 10 level.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
  • This is a flexible/renewable term appointment can be indefinitely extended in up to 6-year increments. Can be converted to permanent based on the needs of the organization and if certain conditions are met.
