Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Health System Administrator responsible for assisting with the management and execution of business activities, critical support services, clinical optimization, and long-range strategic planning.
  • Manages healthcare administration functions by developing and coordinating reports, quality improvement processes, and internal review systems to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Balances the full spectrum of resource, clinical, contract management, and administrative functions to achieve the best possible patient care.
  • Directs coordination of technical experts, acquisition personnel, contractors/ vendors, Staff Judge Advocate, and other parties.
  • Develops and oversees budget, financial forecasts, and strategies. Implements overall budgetary and financial management programs
  • Acts as the Senior Civilian Representative and Executive Liaison within the Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) between other organizations and the local community.
  • Leads and orchestrates marketing activities for the organization, e.g., engaging in public speaking, newspaper interviews, and congressional inquiry to promote public understanding.
  • Supervise multiple disciplines, identify and address training needs to ensure staff receive necessary training, and improve decision-making by enhancing business practices at all organizational levels.

Specialized Experience: Which includes one year of specialized experience which includes:

  1. Evaluating health care services, by developing systems to compile and analyze statistical data to assess program effectiveness.
  2. Reviewing the work products of subordinates, to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of work performed. OR
  3. Establishing liaison with local administrators, physicians, and provider organizations to promote good relations with the military clinic, the military, and beneficiary community.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
