This position serve as the Division Chief, Information Privacy & Governance Division, Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the Office of Public Affairs.
Serves as the Chief, Information and Privacy Governance Division, whose mission is to administer the disclosure provisions of the Privacy Act (PA) and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and formulating programs and policies concerning the collection and release of official information. Provides expert legal advice and guidance in the most complex cases for litigation related to FOIA lawsuits and serves as the principal legal advisor to ATF's Executive Staff and management officials on all matters relating to the public disclosure of information and assists ATF Counsel in the defense of any FOIA or PA litigations filed against the Bureau. Provides policy advice to ATF management and specific ATF components regarding the effects of both FOIA and PA on any of the functional responsibilities of the various ATF components and issue related to the disclosure of information. Overseeing the review of information set for release to Congress.
