Duties

Help

As a Media Asset Specialist, you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Media Asset Management and Optimization
    • Oversees the implementation and management of advanced cataloguing systems, metatagging, and AI-driven tools for media asset optimization.
    • Updates and refines the media asset database, ensuring accurate and comprehensive metadata for all media assets.
    • Performs and oversees the search Tags, bar-coding, re-labeling, and cross-referencing of media assets to enhance retrieval efficiency.
  • Archiving and Preservation
    • Leads the modernization of the audiovisual library, integrate video tapes and audio formats to new technologies for efficient archiving and preservation.
    • Develops and executes archiving strategies of video and audio from different media, including setting timelines, categories, and capacities for media storage.
  • Media Analysis
    • Generates detailed reports and summaries of media content, ensuring accuracy and relevance for the News and Programs Divisions.
    • Uses AI tools to enhance the analysis and categorization of media content, providing valuable insights for broadcasting.

Qualifications

Screen out factor: Applicant must have fluency in both English and Spanish languages that enables you to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration.

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-11 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

  • Maintaining a media library including developing and documenting comprehensive metadata.
  • Developing and executing archiving strategies for a variety of video and audio formats;
  • Utilizing AI tools in media asset management; and
  • Working with media and metadata concerning a variety of Cuban topics such as international relations, the exile community, culture, and related topics.
