Duties

Help
  • Conduct program analysis concerning pertinent aspects of the assigned organizational unit to ensure compliance with established standards and practices, and to make recommendations for the development of new policies and procedures.
  • Optimize healthcare delivery responsibilities of the assigned organizational unit by identifying, analyzing, and documenting issues, patterns, and trends affecting the staffing, scheduling, organization, operations.
  • Solve basic to moderately complex issues by conducting research and analysis as required to create a corrective action plan using reports, justifications, charts, graphs, statistical and narrative data to justify findings and recommendation
  • Identify problems with healthcare system processes and recommends alternatives to improve processes, identifying and reporting any quality improvement issues to the supervisor or appropriate office.
  • Provide management support in one or more of the areas of clinic schedules/templates, annual fiscal expenditures, and development of programs relevant to the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; sets and adjusts short-term priorities; prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes assisting with administrative operations and utilizing various health care delivery systems to schedule appointments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, Business or Public Administration with course work in Health Care Administration.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
